Community contribution
We give what we can give well: engineering hours and platform support for organizations that change lives in our backyard. The two listed below are long-running, board-level commitments. Not photo ops.
If your nonprofit is in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Greater Philadelphia region and needs a real engineering hand, the door is open. We will not pretend pro-bono is sales. It is not.
Story 01 · Healthcare & family support
The Dolan Fund supports families caring for children with serious illnesses. The mission is humane and specific: relieve the financial burden of medical costs so families do not face them alone. We have supported the Fund for years, contributing to local education and community progress alongside the team that runs it.
OST's role addresses the Fund's web application and software needs. The platform that families rely on, that donors interact with, and that the board uses to run the operation has to work. We make sure it works. Senior engineers, accessibility-default builds, no surprise invoices.
Beyond software hours, our CEO sits on the board as treasurer. The work is not transactional. The relationship is not seasonal. If you support a similar mission, this is the kind of partnership we sign up for, and the kind we keep.
Story 02 · Education partnership
Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) is the public high school for grades 9 to 12 in our local Pennsylvania community. PWHS is known for its commitment to academic success and for providing a noteworthy education to its diverse student body.
We collaborate with PWHS because we appreciate the importance of education in defining a young person's future. Our support for the school reflects our belief in promoting the learning opportunities that let kids attain their full potential. As a firmly embedded organization inside the local network, OpenSource Technologies is seen as a partner in PWHS's pursuit of educational excellence.
The collaboration is ongoing. We are committed to continuing it, contributing to the school's long-term success, and positively impacting the lives of students and the future they will help shape.
Three rules, simple and unchanged. They protect the missions we work with from us, and they protect us from the kind of "community work" that is really sales theatre.
Rule 01

Rule 02
We give what we are best at. Software, infrastructure, accessibility, board-level technical advisory. Not branded check ceremonies. Not press releases.
Rule 03
Pro-bono is a multi-year commitment, not a December calendar item. If we cannot stay on it for years, we will not start it. Both partnerships above have outlasted multiple senior staff cycles.
Tell us about the work, the audience, the problem. If we can help and stay on it, we will say yes. If we cannot, we will be honest about that too.
